The clubhouse at Misty Waters is a McSpadden building. So are more than a dozen of the homes around it, on Shorewood Place, White Ibis Court and Egret Ridge, in the gated lakefront community on Belmont’s South Point peninsula with its own marina and boat slips on Lake Wylie. For a stretch of years the McSpadden family lived here too, in a Craftsman home on 120 feet of shoreline that took the top luxury award in Charlotte’s Parade of Homes and was featured in Housetrends, Charlotte Place, Lake Wylie Living and NC Boating Lifestyle.
Misty Waters lots run from level cul-de-sac sites to steep shoreline, and the architectural review expects natural materials and a home that suits the lake. Our homes here range from a 5,100-square-foot cedar-shake Craftsman to a 10,000-square-foot stone-and-stucco residence with 600 feet of waterfront; both were designed with Christopher Phelps and built to the same standard. Dock permitting, buffers and the community’s review are settled before construction starts, not during it.

Misty Waters has its own marina and boat slips on Lake Wylie. A private dock on a shoreline lot is a separate Duke Energy shoreline permit, which we handle as part of the project along with the community’s approvals.
