These photos follow the cabinetry in a waterfront home in McLean, in Belmont NC, from bare boxes to finished doors and hardware. The kitchen leads the way: painted cabinets set around a range hood, a long island with a stained wood base and a stone top, and glass-front uppers above a dark tile backsplash. Elsewhere in the house are a run of navy cabinets and a sage green bath vanity.
The order of work matters in a finished room. The cabinet boxes went in first, and the crown and toe kicks were tied in before anything else touched them. The stone countertops came next, then the island top and the full-height backsplashes. The floors were finished after that. Only then did the doors, drawers and hardware go on, so the faces you will see every day were the last pieces installed.
We have built in McLean since its first phase, and we are grateful to every family who has trusted us with a home there. You can see more of that work at https://mcspaddenhomes.com/mclean
