These photos are from a home we are building in McLean, on the South Shore side in Clover SC. The house is in exterior finishes. Red brick wraps the first floor, and board-and-batten siding runs up the gables and dormers above it, under a dark shingle roof and black-framed windows. The brick has been washed down for the painters, the exterior stain color is chosen, and the siding crew is wrapping the porch beams.
Before any paint goes on, the painters caulk every seam where trim, siding and windows meet. That step is slow and easy to overlook, but it keeps water out of the walls and gives the paint one continuous surface to hold. Inside, the plumbers have started trim-out, so fixtures are going in while the outside is finished.
We have built more than a dozen homes in McLean since its first phase, on both the Belmont NC and Clover SC sides. You can read more about building there at https://mcspaddenhomes.com/mclean
